    Spring onion is famous for its sulfur and copper content. It is also known as scallions or green onions which are widely available in the market. Spring onions consist of a high amount of vitamins and minerals. As a result, they are highly beneficial for human health. Today we are going to discuss about the health benefits of spring onion.

    We consume spring onion as salads or eat them as fritters. Sometimes they are also used in curries and Indian meals.

    1. Treats high blood pressure

    For people suffering from high blood pressure, spring onions are a great treatment. Spring onions treat your high blood pressure caused due to certain circumstances.

    • If your cholesterol level is high
    • If you are experiencing high blood pressure in arteries
    • The salt intake in your body has gone up
    • If you are experiencing obesity
    • Due to high stress and tension

    If your blood pressure is high because of any of the above reasons then spring onion should be a part of your diet. The best way to eat it is in the form of salads. You should consume at least 20-30 grams of spring onion every day to maintain your blood pressure.

    2. Treatment of diabetes

    Spring onions are great for the treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Consuming spring onions regularly gives strength to your pancreas. Spring onion plays a major role in regulating the amount of insulin required by the body, thus preventing diabetes. If you are a diabetic patient then you could even consume spring onions twice a day for their ultimate potential.

    Eat 20-30 grams per session for reducing the sugar level in your body.

    If you are facing extreme digestion problems such as gastritis, acidity, constipation and various other spring onions will help you. Consuming spring onion regularly increases the digestion rate of the intestines.

    You should convert the spring onions to syrup by the process of comminution at home. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey to this spring onion syrup and consume this syrup regularly twice a day after meal.

    In this busy world full of stress and tension, heart problems and stroke has been a common issue. Blockage of arteries, inflammation in heart muscles, irregular flow of blood from the heart are the common heart problems seen recently. To solve these issues spring onions come to your rescue.

    Spring onions are regarded as blood thinners as they help in the easy flow of blood from the heart. Along with consuming raw spring onions, you should also maintain an oil-free diet. That would help you a lot to fight against heart diseases.

    For people having a high amount of bad cholesterol ( LDL and VLDL), serum cholesterol and triglycerides in the body should include spring onions in their diet. Spring onions reduce cholesterol by improving your digestion power and making your liver highly active.
