MTR Poha vs Maggi Poha – Comparision
1. Branding
The first difference that lies between both of them is the brand value. MTR poha is branded and marketed by the brand MTR whereas Maggi poha is branded and marketed by the brand Maggi. In terms of popularity among consumers, Maggi holds the upper hand because of its popularity, especially in the instant recipe market.
2. Pricing
65g pack of Maggi Poha costs you around Rs 25 whereas 60g pack of MTR Poha costs you around Rs 25. The price is the same but the serving size is different. Under the same pricing, you get 5 grams more of Maggi Poha.
3. Ingredients and preservatives
The ingredient content in both MTR Poha and Maggi Poha is more or less the same. Both contain preservatives. Maggi poha does not mention the presence of preservatives in their pack but MTR Poha mentions that it does not contain any preservatives. This is entirely wrong as it contains acidity regulators 330 and 334. Yes, these acidity regulators are not harmful to your health but MTR Poha should never mention “No added preservatives” when there is clear evidence of the presence of preservatives.

- MTR Poha has almost 200mg more sodium compared to that of Maggi Poha, which is not at all good. Too much sodium is not at all good for our heart and may lead to strokes, high blood pressure, and other heart-related problems.
5. Presence of palm oil
Both MTR Poha and Maggi Poha instant recipes mention the presence of palm oil. I have already mentioned how harmful palm oil is for our health in my previous articles. Palm oil is a cheap oil that has a high amount of saturated fat content. Food industries generally use palm oil in their products to make them cost-effective.
6. Which is quicker to prepare?
MTR Poha claims to be ready in 3minutes and only 45ml of water is required for the preparation. Maggi Poha claims to be ready in 4 minutes and requires about 70ml water. So we can say that MTR Poha can be prepared faster than Maggi Poha.
MTR Poha vs Maggi Poha – Which one is better?
Both MTR Poha and Maggi Poha are good in their own ways. But if you had to choose the one you should definitely go on with Maggi Poha as it has high fiber, less sodium and more serving size at the same price compared to that of MTR Poha. Yes, it would take 1 minute extra to prepare Maggi Poha but yes 1-minute difference cannot be considered a huge difference. The taste of both Pohas is actually good and it’s entirely up to you to choose the better one according to your preferability. The differences are very less and both the Poha recipes actually stand out among all the other brands in the market.
