    8 health benefits of beer

    1. Drinking beer prevents kidney stones

A study in Finland has proved that daily consumption of beer can reduce the risk of developing kidney stones by 40%. Beer contains 93% of water which helps in flushing out the toxic materials from your body and maintains the good health of your kidneys. Hops flowers that are used for the manufacturing of beer helps in the slow release of calcium from bones.

    2. A beer drinker can live longer

Someone who drinks beer moderately can live longer compared to someone who does not drink at all. Beer is great for moderate drinking. If you are drinking beer in large quantities then it is not at all good for your health. But according to numerous studies, moderate drinking people live longer and better than drunk people and teetotalers.

In comparison with alcohol and spirits, beer is perfect as a selection of moderate drinking because of the low alcohol content in beer. And as we all know Thomas Jefferson has already mentioned “Beer, if drunk with moderation, softens the temper, cheers the spirit, and promotes health.” in his last research papers.

    3. Beer might be safer than water in some places

Yes, this is true. If you are at a place where you are advised not to drink water because of pollutants or any other factors, then if you are getting a local beer at that place you should go for it. The local beer should be the safest option for you compared to the polluted water.

Beer is sometimes even safer than the local water. In the beer-making process when beer is brewed, it is boiled and then sealed in a bottle. Beer does not contain any life-threatening bacteria and is not at all poisonous.

    4. Beer does not give you beer belly

There is a huge myth that says drinking beer gives you beer bully or makes you fat. This is entirely wrong. A study done by researchers at the University College of London in the year 2003 states that there is no connection between the number of beer people drank and the size of their belly.

The myth states if someone is drinking beer then he/she gains tummy fat way faster than someone who does not drink. This has been proved wrong by the researchers. Beer and obesity if exists are probably very weak.

Studies also prove that if you are drinking beer moderately it can help you to lose weight as compared to non-drinkers.

Beer boosts your metabolism and controls your fat. The only two things that you should remember is that you should do moderate drinking and also maintain a proper diet.

    5.  Beer makes your heart healthy

Studies found 25% lower heart diseases if you are drinking 330 ml of beer regularly if compared to a non-drinker. Among all alcoholic beverages, beer contains the most amount of polyphenols which are great for the heart. According to Havard University, in 2002, people suffering from heart problems can get great benefits from beer.

    6. Beer reduces stress

We all know how beer reduces stress. Beer acts as a stress reliever. A moderate amount of beer helps you in sound sleep and removal of frustration. You become calm and stress-free. If you want an immediate stress-buster then drinking a moderate amount of beer is your best choice.

    7. Beer contains vitamins and minerals

Beer is rich in vitamins and minerals. 90% of beer is water but the rest content is rich in Vitamin B and minerals. Beer also contains soluble fiber which prevents the body from absorbing fats.

    8. Beer maintains the cholesterol balance of your body

Your body is made up of two types of cholesterol, HDL (the good cholesterol) and LDL (the bad cholesterol). Drinking beer will main the HDL and LDL ratios of the body as beer flushes out the LDL and keeps your HDL ratios high.

Who should stay away from beer?

    1. People who are into sports.
    2. People who have strict bodybuilding goals.
    3. Pregnant women.
    4. People with liver and digestion problems.
    5. People suffering from GOUT.

    Conclusion

So as you can see beer has a lot of health benefits but still your family stops you from drinking beer. This is because you cannot consume beer on a regular basis and you get addicted to beer. Only people who drink beer in a moderate amount can experience the wonderful health benefits of beer. Here moderate drinking means 330 ml of beer per day. So, yes beer is great for your health if drank on a moderate basis.
